Plant Migration

It is believed to have ended up in the slope of Asia specifically in the regions now known as Mongolia and Southern Siberia. It goes back 12000 years placing it amongst humanities oldest cultivated crops.

Cannabis came into the Middle East between 2500bc and 1400bc. It was likely used by Scythians, a nomadic Indo European group. They also carried it into Southern Russia and Ukraine. Germanic tribes brought it into Germany and from there to Britain during the 5th century with Anglo-Saxon invasions. Cannabis remains have also been found in the remains of Viking ships dating to the mid 9th century.

Over the next centuries cannabis migrated to the various regions of the world ,travelling through Africa reaching South America in the 19th century and being carried North afterwards eventually reaching North America.
